Methodology and scope

Entries are grouped by country and area using their coordinates. Simplified boundaries may require local correction. Without an address, the nearest reference settlement within 25 km provides a landmark, not proof of the camera’s administrative municipality.

French addresses are postal landmarks obtained through reverse geocoding, no more than 100 metres from the GPS point. A nearby address does not prove which carriageway is enforced. It is never used to invent a speed limit or enforcement direction.

For streets derived from OpenStreetMap, the camera node must belong to a named highway and remain within 5 metres of the imported position. Matches with conflicting street names are rejected. Way identifiers, method and date are retained in the data; no postal address is invented.

An entry documents inclusion in the dataset, not whether the camera is operating at the time of viewing. Missing information is not replaced with assumptions. The general capabilities of a camera family do not guarantee each installation’s configuration.

Coverage is not exhaustive. Multiple identifiers may describe the same equipment. Swiss locations are excluded, including from the copy offered below. Road signs and official decisions take precedence.
