For technically established speeding of more than 40 km/h in built-up areas or more than 50 km/h outside them, the Austrian portal lists €300–€5,000 and one month’s licence withdrawal. These are strictly exceeded thresholds, not driving tolerances.

Above 60 km/h excess in built-up areas or 70 km/h elsewhere, consequences become more severe. Since March 2024, temporary seizure is possible in relevant cases. Permanent confiscation has additional conditions: it does not automatically follow every camera detection.
