Motorcycle ride in Rhineland-Palatinate

Volcanic Eifel, from the Nürburgring to the maars

46 km (29 miles), 1 hr 5 min, intermediate

Starting from Adenau, at the foot of the Nürburgring, the road goes round the circuit via Nürburg and crosses the Eifel hills via Kelberg to Daun and its maars, round lakes formed by volcanic explosions. It then reaches Ulmen and its own maar. Varied bends and a generally good surface; lots of motorcyclists at weekends.
